New keynotes announced: Honda, Volvo and Jaguar Land Rover join the modeFRONTIER UM16 lineup

18 April 2016

With only one month to go before the 7th edition of the modeFRONTIER International Users' Meeting, ESTECO announces three new keynote speakers to complete the plenary session lineup. Kenichi Ando from Honda, Mikael Törmänen from Volvo Car Corporation and Tayeb Zeguer from Jaguar Land Rover showcase how big players in the automotive field are using optimization technology to stay one step ahead.

Kenichi Ando works at Honda's Automobile R&D Center in Japan as a CFD engineer specializing in styling optimization. At this year's modeFRONTIER International Users' Meeting he will discuss how modeFRONTIER played a key role in the development of an aerodynamics evaluation system at an early concept stage of automotive styling design.

Mikael TörmänenTechnical Expert MDO & P/T Attributes Balancing at Volvo Car Corporation, will focus on how the company is extending the MDO approach throughout its entire product development process: from initial concept to quality assured assessments.

Mikael will also provide insight into how Volvo is moving forward with the standardization and interoperability of processes and simulation data managament using the new version ESTECO Enterprise Suite which supports the connection with PLM systems using a plug and play approach.

The presentation by Tayeb Zeguer poses an important question: Is MDO the enabler to the technology that is driving change?. As a CAE Manager with over 30 years’ experience at Jaguar Land Rover, Tayeb's goal is to provide the company with integrated, automated design improvement methods to be used in the MDO process to design and dramatically improve the quality of product design in terms of performance, robustness and time to market.

He will also give practical examples that show how simple tools created by an MDO expert can be used by non-experts such as, for example, CAD engineers.
