Chief Race Engineer, Cyan Racing
Per Blomberg is Chief Race Engineer at Cyan Racing. That means responsible for all track activities regarding the engineering side of the racing operation. Cyan Racing is the motorsport partner of Polestar and Polestar is Volvo Cars performance cars company. Per Blomberg has worked in the company since 12 years and always within the department of chassi engineering. The company has for the 2016 season started a multi-year commitment to the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) and has for that purpose developed the Volvo S60 Polestar TC1 which is a very exotic and powerful racing car.

Cyan Racing is the official Volvo motorsport partner through its performance company Polestar. From 2016 Polestar Cyan Racing is competing in the World Touring Car Championship. In order to optimize the aerodynamics of the Volvo S60 TC1 WTCC race car, Cyan Racing has conducted a wind tunnel session where the DOE was derived with modeFRONTIER.
After the wind tunnel test the result data was collected in modeFRONTIER and response surfaces were extracted. From those response surfaces an aeromodel of the car was generated that was fed into Cyan Racing’s Lap Time Simulation software in order to retrieve the most effective aero settings of the car for the various circuits that the 2016 WTCC season comprises. Also this process was driven by modeFRONTIER.
