Your Engineering Toolkit for ESTECO Academy Microgrid Design Competition

With more than 50 qualified teams, the ESTECO Academy Microgrid Design Competition has officially started. Many students from all over the world have joined the challenge and will rely on state-of-the-art engineering technologies to design the most cost and energy-efficient hybrid microgrid. 

 

SOFTWARE LICENSES

Along with the confirmation of your admission, you will receive by email the credentials for downloading modeFRONTIER software free of charge (the use of modeFRONTIER is compulsory for designing the microgrid). Please read carefully the instructions on how to download the software you will be using for the project and how to set up and access the license server.

If you wish to use the complimentary modeling software provided by ANSYS and Gamma Technologies, please find their contacts details below in order to get their software licenses free of charge. The use of ANSYS and Gamma Technologies is only suggested, teams can use their preferred software tools to perform the analysis.

DELIVERABLE FORMATS

The projects will be judged on the basis of a technical report (maximum 12 pages), accompanied by a presentation (maximum 20 slides), with project strengths and the motivations behind the proposed design solution. Additional materials - video of a pitch explaining why the proposed solution works (max 1.30 min) - is highly recommended to support the submission.

The technical report should be created in PDF format, while the template for the presentation is available here. All documents must be sent to academy@esteco.com by May 30th, 2019
