Mathematical Optimization of Gear Shift Schedules for Hybrid Electric Vehicles Fuel Economy Improvement

The approaches for mathematical optimization of HEV transmission gear shift schedules and application of constrains are discussed.  The  software package for multi-objectives genetic algorithm, a Matlab-Simulink based vehicle model, a Matlab based in-house eco-system for high performance computing (HPC) and workstation (WS) communication and a Matlab based an in-house shift schedule algorithm (proprietary) have been used for the mathematical optimization.
