Blade fir tree design by genetic algorithm method
The shape of the location where turbine blade and disk are connected, is usually complicated and is subjected to many mandatory design criteria that need to be satisfied at the same time. This work design an automatic process governed by modeFRONTIER to optimize the fir tree shape using an adimensional parametrical model in MSC/Patran. The process run automatically different engine like Matlab for preliminary calculation, Patran and Nastran for detailed calculation. The process produce optimized solutions in compliance with all the design criteria.
