CFD-based cavitation prediction model calibration with modeFRONTIER and successful application to propeller hydrodynamics
Three different mass transfer models were successfully tuned, based on the experimental data of the Naca66(MOD) hydrofoil, using modeFRONTIER. The calibrated models were then applied to several propeller cases and the results obtained with the different mass transfer models were in line with each other and
agree well with the available experimental data. Successful reproduction, qualitative and quantitative, of the performances and cavitation patterns of propellers were made for non-uniform inflow.
