Integration of modeFRONTIER and VI-grade Software for Efficient Multi-Objective Optimization in Multibody Systems Design

Eddi Valvason (VI-Grade)

CHALLENGE - Each company department has been traditionally performing single-discipline simulations on a single vehicle model in function of their specific goals, which are often conflicting. A more integrated approach was required to achieve all objectives at once without prejudicing any of them.

SOLUTION - VI Grade dynamic simulation software was integrated with modeFRONTIER to achieve the objectives of different departments, such as fuel consumption, lap time reduction and improvements in car maneuverability.

BENEFITS - modeFRONTIER enabled engineers to share their design experience among all departments and to understand the relations between relevant parameters, in particular using reliable response surfaces.
