Multi-objective Optimization in the Conceptual Phase of Vehicle Development

CHALLENGE - This paper deals with the usage of multi-objective optimization techniques in the early stage of vehicle development. The integration of vehicle dynamics simulation tools and multi-objective optimization tools can provide significant improvements in the development procedure.







SOLUTION - The following research revealed several results such as:

  • A wide range of numerically verified solutions in short calculation time
  • Optimization tool coupled successfully with simulation tools for analyzing the suspension system kinematics and vehicle dynamics

BENEFITS - The optimization software modeFRONTIER was coupled with two simulation software in order to analyze suspension kinematics and vehicle dynamics. modeFRONTIER enables geographical modeling and each icon on the layout represents some type of connection to the specific file of the simulation process.
