Using mode FRONTIER to integrate GT-Valve train and GT-Power models for valve event optimization

For optimum engine performance, valve timing and lift profile needs to optimized for a given breathing configuration dealing with engine speed and valves and port design and performance. During this project, mode FRONTIER helped engineers integrate GT models and replace the In-house optimization tool. The process flow was created in mode FRONTIER to automate the calibration process and develop the optimization study, initially with an RSM algorithm followed by the Hybrid in the direct optimization step.
