Multivariate Optimization and 1-D Simulation of a High Performance Single Cylinder Engine for The ESTECO Academy Design Competition

Organized in partnership with Aprilia Racing and Gamma Technologies, the ESTECO Academy Design Competition 2016 was open to teams of undergraduate and graduate engineering students. The challenge was to improve the design of a 4 stroke single cylinder engine through multidisciplinary optimization (using modeFRONTIER) and 1-D simulation of the engine system with GT-Suite.

Optimization on Fuel Injection Parameter of Heavy-Duty Diesel Engine Based on Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithms

By using the GT-power software to establish the computing model of diesel engines and employing the modeFRONTIER multiobjective genetic algorithm (MOGA), this study carried out optimal research on performance indicators of diesel engines such as BSFC, NOX, soot, HC and CO, achieved the optimal solution to combination of injection parameters, and analyzed the relationship between optimal objective and fitness.​

Multi-objective optimization of a V6 3.0L diesel engine for automotive applications, using GT-SUITE and modeFRONTIER

In this project, GT-SUITE and modeFRONTIER are coupled to investigate several engine design parameters on engine performance using a  V6 3.0L diesel engine as an example​. With eight engine configurations, time to torque is one of the objectives selected for this optimization process.
